MANHATTAN, Mont. – U.S. Senator Tim Sheehy (R – Mont.) yesterday visited Three Forks and Manhattan to hold town halls and informational sessions with Montana students about leadership, service, and attending a United States Service Academy.

“My wife and I met at the Naval Academy. We were proud to serve our country, and we both know how rewarding it is to live a life of service after attending a service academy. That’s why I’m encouraging the next generation of Montanans to serve and educating kids on all the possibilities they have by attending a service academy or joining the military. There’s no higher calling in life than serving your country, and it is my honor to help young Montanans reach their full potential and nominate the next generation of warfighters for appointment to the U.S. Service Academies,” said Senator Sheehy.

Montanans interested in attending a United States Service Academy can learn more by visiting: https://www.sheehy.senate.gov/services/academy-nominations/.

In order to gain admission, Montanans must apply directly to the Academy and apply for a Congressional Nomination. These appointments are offered to those who meet the eligibility requirements and are the most competitive in academic performance, physical fitness, extracurricular involvement, leadership traits, motivation, and aptitude for military service. Graduates are obligated to serve in the military for five years following their graduation. The deadline to apply for Fall 2026 admission is November 1, 2025.
