In last year’s election, Montanans and hardworking Americans made clear they were tired of the Democrats’ out-of-touch policies, and overwhelmingly elected Republicans to deliver on the America First agenda.
Eight months removed from the most consequential election in our lifetime, Republicans have hit the ground running — while Democrats spend every day reminding us why they lost.
We’ve rapidly confirmed President Trump’s Cabinet, outpacing the last three administrations, and the Senate has passed more pieces of legislation via roll call vote than any Congress in 35 years.
The bills we’ve passed have been historic and will improve the lives of everyday Americans.
We passed the Laken Riley Act and the HALT Fentanyl Act to get violent illegal immigrants out of our country and combat the opioid epidemic that has plagued our country because of the Democrat’s open-borders agenda.
We solidified America’s footing as an economic powerhouse by passing the GENIUS Act, ensuring we lead the digital currency revolution on the world stage.
We’ve rolled back disastrous Biden-era regulations that put our resource economy on life support, and we passed the One, Big, Beautiful Bill to secure the border, strengthen our military, stop the largest tax hike in our history, and put money back in the pockets of working-class Americans.
Thanks to the Big, Beautiful Bill, Montanans can expect to see their wages increase by up to $6,100 over the next four years. The typical family of four will see higher take-home pay, and our seniors and service industry workers will benefit from no tax on tips and Social Security.
Because we made the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent, farmers, ranchers, and small business owners can rest easier with a predictable, pro-growth tax code that allows them to invest in their operations instead of figuring out how to cope with the $4 trillion tax increase Democrats fought tooth-and-nail for.
Despite getting wiped out in the November election and a tanking national approval rating, those on the other side of the aisle appear to have learned absolutely nothing.
They’ve spent months throwing up procedural hurdles to stop the agenda Americans overwhelmingly support. From publicity stunts designed to grind the Senate to a halt for hours on end, to weaponizing Senate procedures to delay every one of President Trump’s nominees, Democrats have made clear they couldn’t be less interested in getting anything done for hardworking Americans.
So far, Democrats have not allowed a single unanimous consent or voice vote for civilian nominees, a procedural tactic designed to slow not just the confirmation process, but the business of government writ large. President Trump is the first president on record without a single civilian nominee confirmed via voice vote or unanimous consent.
Chuck Schumer used to decry these tactics. Just after Joe Biden was elected in 2020, the Democratic leader took to the floor of the Senate to demand the confirmation of Biden’s cabinet “without delay.”
Fast forward four years, and Schumer is leading the charge to urge blanket opposition to all of President Trump’s nominees.
How quickly times have changed. While Republicans make history by delivering results for the American people, Democrats have opted to make history through obstruction.
This kind of childish “resistance” orchestrated by Schumer to cater to the far-left radicals in his party is exactly why Americans lost faith in the Democrats’ ability to serve their interests.
The people delivered a mandate for America First common sense in November, and Republicans have taken their cue. The Democrats are still lost in the wilderness.
